Philip Dudman trained at Coventry Polytechnic and Loughborough College of Art in the mid 1980s and has been working as a teacher and artist in Leicestershire and Somerset since then.

 

Philip Dudman's work is primarily inspired by the ever-changing nature of the sky and its effects on the landscape. Much of his work is produced directly from observation using layers of acrylic and varnish.

 

In 1995 Philip Dudman featured in 'A Festival of British Illustration' - an exhibition of contemporary illustration . He has exhibited widely over the last twenty years at a variety of venues including The City Gallery in Leicester and Bridgwater Arts Centre. Philip has had work selected for The Royal West of England Open Exhibition and had a successful one-man exhibition at Waterstones Bookshop in Taunton. He has been involved in Somerset Arts Weeks on a number of occasions since 2002, and is preparing for a joint exhibition with artist Michael Tarr, which is due to start on the 16th October 2014 at the CICCIC Centre in Taunton.

 

Philip Dudman is currently Head of Art at Queen's College Junior School in Taunton.
